How ironic is this place called whispers when all I want to do is shout and tell everyone about it! Lol the food was amazing and the service was fast. The menu can be a little overwhelming because it's so busy however the host was great at making recommendations. Would recommend this place!
Great brunch spot. We had three dishes, and they were all excellent: eggs Benedict, a sweet crepe (which can be customized), and huevos rancheros. The taste was great, and portions, while large, were manageable. We also got hot chocolate and mocha, which were great too. Service was very quick and efficient, and we got our dishes very quickly after sitting down. The restaurant had plenty of seating areas, and did not feel crowded or cramped.
Not bad. Craving something new in the area as I have almost everything to eat around this area. I had the Chicken burger with fries (you'll have to ask for cheese added as there isn't any cheese). Food was pretty good, chicken was a little tough on the edges overall pretty tasty. Service was fast and efficient. Took my food to go. Would've liked more than 2 packets of ketchup but I guess it's my fault for not asking I guess. The place is clean and I would definitely come back to try and have a meal in this clean establishment.
Very classic diner feel but with crepes lol. I've come to Whispers a few times and it always clears the taste test. Whether you're in the mood for a traditional breakfast or something a bit more edgy, it's there. Menu is filled with a La carte items as well if you want a small bite or to build your own plate. Plenty of seating, plenty of parking (if you're willing to pay) and the surrounding area is bustling with downtown vibes. Giving 4 stars because it's not knock your socks off but it is worth exploring. Last note, whispers is still very very affordable so it won't hurt your wallet.
We loved Whispers cafe's ambiance and style. Even though you order at the front and we sat outside, our servers checked on us throughout lunch. They have various food options and good portions sizes. However it was pricey for the 3 items we ordered. Also, although the chalk board is beautiful and colorful, I wished they displayed the pricing of each food item - that's a must. The chicken soup was tasty with lots of veggies but it wasn't very hot :( the waffle and the extra crispy potatoes were my favorite! Will try other dishes next time.
A very spacious cafe with open windows, we came an hour into opening on a weekday so not packed at all. My daughter enjoyed her crepe and finished most of it. I found my Benedict okay. The hollandaise sauce was not to my preference (wasn't bad) but just felt something was missing. However to my pleasant surprise the potatoes were the right texture of crisp (not overcooked) and seasoned well. It's also a pretty big portion. I also ordered a chai latte but was too sweet for my taste. They have a lot on menu and worth to come back to see what else I can fancy.
After a meeting at Philz Coffee, we decided to stop by Whispers Cafe and Creperie, just a short walk away. The dining area is spacious, making it a comfortable spot to relax and chat with friends. The ordering process was simple--place your order and pay at the counter. Service was good, and the menu is impressively extensive, offering a wide variety of options. Our food came out quickly, which was a nice touch. We ordered the French toast topped with strawberries and bananas. The syrup was on the side. It was tasty and satisfying, though not the best French toast I've ever had. It definitely "did the job." I also had 2 eggs over easy with a side salad. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the salad was refreshing, adding a nice balance to the meal. While the food and experience were enjoyable, I found the pricing a bit steep for what we received. It's a decent spot if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.
Yum I love whispers. I always get the bayside, the house potatoes are always sooo yummy. And whisper crepe never disappoints! It is for sure a lot on the simpler side but sometimes the classics are necessary and they are done well here. My husband got the chicken pesto sandwich and im going to be honest last time we came he was not that much of a fan however he really enjoyed the sandwich!! I recommend everything is always consistent and delish.
My favorite brunch spot in downtown SJ!! Nice, spacious sit-down with indoor and outdoor seating. Price points are great!! FOOD REVIEW: I've been here for several brunch dates and just can't stop ordering the HUEVOS RANCHEROS. My plate and everyone else's at the table were huge. 100% going to keep you full for a while and the house potatoes are so addicting!! So good that I've tried recreate it at home haha. - Pico de gallo and avocado were fresh - Sour cream wasn't watery like some other places - Tortillas weren't too grainy or soggy :) - Lotsss of beans PARKING: There are lots of SJ parking garages with free 90 min parking. The lot there doesn't seem to have good reviews or regulations in place, so I'd go for the garages instead. I think it's $1 for every 20 min AFTER the initial 90 min that's free.
I met with a friend here to talk about life. First off, there's parking available right next to the cafe and a parking garage a couple of feet away. There is seating inside & outside. We sat inside. The customer waits in line to order their food, drinks, and pays for their meal. We were given a number to display on our table. I like the fact that we ordered and paid so we didn't have to wait for a server to bring us a check. Immediately after sitting down, they brought us our coffee. Our food came out within minutes. Their service was so quick! Once we were eating, they kept coming up to us to ask if we were okay. Great customer service. They even asked us if we were okay because we weren't eating lol; yet, we weren't eating because we were so enthralled in our conversation. It was so kind of them to check in on us and ensure there was nothing wrong with our food. I'd definitely recommend this cafe. If you've ever been to Davis, this place is a lot like Crepeville.
